Camassia Quamash (Camas) is a clump-forming bulbous perennial with upright racems packed with dozen of star-shaped, sky blue to deep blue flowers. Blooming in late spring to early summer, they rise atop a pretty foliage clump of long, narrow, grass-like, bright grrn leaves.

The flowers are lily like, with coloured stamens, and the plants are tall, growing to around 1-1.3m. The bulbs originate from North America where they are to be found growing along-side streams and damp meadows, from which it follows Camassia will tolerate damp conditions.
Camassia Quamash bulbs need to be planted in the fall. When planting, dig holes 4' deep and 8-10' apart. The bulbs are round but do have a small pointy end. Plant the point upwards.
Camassia bloom in late spring, after the daffodils and before peonies and other early summer perennials. In their natural habitat, these bulbs grow in woodland edges and moist meadows
Camassia quamash also referred to as esculenta is perfect for planting in grass areas and under trees. They will multiply over the years and look superb in meadows and conversation areas. Dramatic flowers of intense purple-blue, enjoys most climates and soil conditions.

The bulbs were very dried when arrived, several had powdered and broken up completely in the shipping bag making me think they were packaged in mailers long ago and sat far too long waiting to ship. Doubtful that the remaining bulbs will sprout given how dry the other's were.
