I have used this same harness for 8 years. It is secure, and made well so I never worry about my dog pulling as I walk her. It also has a great fit for my dog and doesn't restrict her front leg movement. The metal hook is fully enclosed so it can't slip through and come lose. The plastic clip has never broken or unsnapped so I trust this harness completely. It is also priced right. Once it gets dirty and older, I just order a new one!I purchased a few days ago for our mini schnauzer. She is 17" around the deepest part of her chest. The harness is loose around the front area of her chest as the area is more narrow. I do not think we could have sized down without sacrificing the space we needed around her ribs. That being said, the harness is exactly what I expected. I purchased for a lighter summer harness option for her and it works well for us. Size chart appears spot on for girth. I like the fabric around the harness but the buckles are right at her elbows. I would not recommend for dogs who have irritation or calluses there. Please note our pup does not back out of harnesses and she walks without pulling. This harness may not suit for a stronger, larger dog breed in terms of durability. If you are wanting a harness that is not loose around the front chest area, you might want to look at other styles of harnesses for that adjustability.Dachshunds have a different skeletal frame than many other breeds, so it is difficult finding a harness that fits well and is comfortable for them. I had purchased one of these for my own mini Dachshund and she has been very comfortable when wearing it; I then purchased two more, one each for my daughter's two mini Dachshunds, which they also like wearing; her male is a very muscular/stocky build and her female is more sleek in shape. The harness fits the male perfectly and it has been difficult finding that fits him; the harness is looser on her female, but still fits very well when she pulls on the leash. I highly recommend this harness!It was the perfect fit without all the hooks and gadgets that come with other harnesses that get all tangled up as you're trying to get your excited to go out, dog does. I have been looking to replace his old one that was just like this but couldn't find it anywhere! I'm so glad I was able to come across this finally. My dog is very comfortable in this, and I just love it!Fits my little Yorkie perfectly. Does not choke her when she pulls on the leash. She wears the XXS size. Plan to order another one!The size is wrong on the description. Our dog is right at the change from the xs to s. We got the xs and it was way too small. The size on the website was different than the size of the actual item. However, I return it and bought the next size up and had it all straightened out in a few days. That was painless and very efficient!These are the best! Arrived on time!
