Sennelier extra-fine soft pastels are water soluble and have an unparalleled depth, luminosity and intensity. Each pastel is composed of high quality pure pigment and a natural transparent binder. Ultra-fine gradations in color are achieved by increasing amounts of transparent mineral fines. The naturally air dried sticks are not compressed and extra soft, so that even a gentle stroke delivers a solid, powerful line of brilliant color and large areas may be readily covered with a lush, luxurious color. With exceptional brightness, they are lightfast enough to hold color for centuries.

Sennelier soft pastels are indeed super soft. This makes them wonderful for coverage. They are pricy but oh so worth it if you do a lot of pastel work. Personally doing winter scenes is my favorite so I use a lot of white. What a difference this chalk has made in my work. I am very happy and will begin to add more colors as I can afford them. The soft pastel really does not crumble as you might think as long as you use it with a gentle touch...which is all you need with this chalk. It fills up the tooth of the paper quickly. Attached are a couple of the snow scenes where I used this chalk. Using this chalk is a lot of fun.This product was excellent. It went on the paper easily.The first one came wrapped in bubble wrap but was still completely crumbled once unwrapped.I was expecting this product but arrived completely shattered. So dissapointed.Velvet like texture, beautiful deep blue. You can notice the high quality just touching it, a little to crumble for me, but not big deal, great over Carson Touch paper.Cannot go wrong with Sennelier pastelsGreat product and the packaging was very well done.i really love it !!! it's so good. a a a a a a a a a a a aAs described this is a very intense and bright white which is useful for highlights. It is a cold white. I find Sennelier pastels to be on the brittle side despite having a waxy feel in the hand but the colours are great and they go on thick over other dry pastels for a zing of colour or a pop of highlighting. I like to mix brands for contrast. The amount of packaging for one tiny stick did make me feel guilty but at least it was all cardboard and recyclable.I was really disappointed with these white oil pastels, I use white to blend other colours, but these are so hard and crumbly, they just lift the other colours off of the paper. I bought sennelier white pastels instead and they are 100%betterIt was really well wrapped up with about 4 or 5 layers but when i finally unwrapped it was broken in half so I was disappointed. Because of the break it is harder to hold and use. It arrived on time.Great oily pastel, fab quality - pastel was broken which was a bit disappointing (despite being well packaged)So pleased to have this particular green shade and texture perfect for my way of working on foliage.
